Planting
Its starting to be springish, and I admire the dutch dedication to gardening.

There is a whole SECTION of poppy seeds. Guess who is buying one of everything like a kid in a candy store. My test batch of cali are doing very nicely.

Also, time to start the mary jane topiary. I am using my 1 of 5 free pass on the horticulture ticket.

I am thinking of planting in some strawberries as well. I have a horrid black thumb and am trying to start small with a few interesting projects and some low maintenance hard-to-kill stuff.

So far the garden plan includes lavender, rosemary, poppies and a strawberry bush. I'll do an outdoor potted garden for a few of the herbs and move them inside in the winter.

I am looking forward to the flower market for all the frivolities I will kill at leisure.

I put my strawberry plants (three of em) into a self watering container made out of two 5-gallon buckets and since then I've left it the hell alone other than bringing it inside on cold nights. Self watering containers are awesome for the lazy gardener (google it and you'll get tons of version and how-tos.)
